Padaung.Long-necked women

Padaung (Padung), tribe of long-necked women in Thailand. 

Famous long-necked women's tribe padaung framed copper rings - it is ancient traditions. By the way, the ring around the neck - not really ring,it's a thick copper wire, stranded in a spiral. Times have changed, but the tradition remained. Adult woman wears on her neck more then twenty-rings weighing 4-5 kilograms. First ring they put on the girls at 5 years old. Аfter a woman marries, she stop wearing rings. Generally speaking, this unusual visual effect isn't  due to the deformation of the cervical vertebrae. From the fact that the ring is constantly putting pressure on their shoulders, deformed entire shoulder girdle, and that creates the appearance of a disproportionately long neck.
